Mamadou Barry

Barry is a returning AmeriCorps Fellow, with two years of experience providing college and career advising to young people. Before being an advisor, Barry worked at a project-based high school in Somerville, where he came up with and curated creative projects alongside students. His experience in collaborating with youth makes him a passionate youth worker.

When he is not helping youth achieve their goals, Barry is creating community. He runs a film group called The Makers, a group of local Boston filmmakers who get together and create short films. He also runs another group called Storytelling Wednesday, which meets once a month at Smoot Standard in Cambridge. At those meetings, participants can share stories that were informative in their upbringing or experiences that shaped their perspective on the world.
