Write, perform, and record original songs of any style with strong, positive messages. Express yourself and share your work in recordings and live performances with the community. Programs Include: Da Block, The Write Rhythm, Got Soul?, Street Program, & Streetwise, Hip Hop History
Participate in one of ZUMIX’s high-energy performance groups whether you like to sing or play an instrument or have no experience but want to learn. Groups perform all over the Boston area for their friends, family, and the greater community.
Train in audio and computer technologies; learn how to make beats, how to record a band, or how to run live sound. Participate in internships, freelance contract work. Programs include: Beatmakers, Z-Tech Audio Fix-it, Z-Tech Studio, Z-Tech LIVE!
ZUMIX Radio broadcasts at 1630 AM and streams live at zumix.org. There are many ways to get on the air: have your own music or talk show, join our news and public affairs team, or become a part of the ZUMIX Radio Theatre group. Programs include: DJ Training, Radio Theater, Radio Journalism, New Media Journalism
ZUMIX Sprouts programs offer an exciting introduction to music, performance, and self-expression. Learn about, singing, dancing, playing instruments, and visual arts. While most of the Sprouts programs are for younger students, Sprouts does offer a theater class for students ages 7-18. Programs Include: Sprouts Ensemble, Lights Kids Action, Fairytales Alive, Theater (7-18), Warmth Program
Learn how to play an instrument, read music, and perform through weekly one-on-one lessons with professional musicians. Learn a variety of musical styles and perform many times throughout the year at ZUMIX and in the community.
